Vintage Japanese Damascene Earrings

Dating to the mid 20th century, a pair of scenic Japanese Damascene drop earrings. Damascene is the inlay of 24 carat gold and silver into a darkly oxidised steel background, a traditional art originally used to decorate samurai swords and ceremonial articles. The beautifully shaped panels are beautifully decorated with a different finely executed design of mountains, pagodas and bamboo. On new 9ct Gold wires, they measure 3.5 from the top of the wire.
